New York Fashion Week SS 15

2015 New York Fashion Weeks gives nod to the Fashionistas of the 90’s

New York Fashion Week 2015 brings us over-glammed 90’s bonanza hair. Although most of these trends would seem unwearable by the masses, I’m sure a few brave fashionistas will find a way to adapt the styles.

With a focus on eyebrows this season, we bring back thick shaped 90’s brows similar to Brooke Shields, but the designer’s at Bagdley Mischka stepped it up a notch with rainbow bushy brows. Many of the runway models donned eyebrows mascaraed to look the same hue as their chalk colored highlights.

If you thought that was too much, the Rodarte Sisters sent their models down the runway with multiple faux-piercings on each eyebrow. This trend is reminiscent of the popular 90’s punk style, but the multiple piercings take it to another level.

DKNY designers were inspired by African-American women styles of the 90’s with this gelled baby-hair trend. These baby hairstyles were accompanied by zigzag parts, ponytails, and braids.

The Blonds take the high side ponytail into the extreme with hair-words. The models hair became equally as advertising as the clothes themselves.

Even Marc Jacobs took inspiration from the punk princess of the 90’s, Gwen Stephanie with this bun-hawk style.

At Architeqt Salon, we’ve began to see many 90’s styles sneaking its way to a comeback, but we predict some of the less extreme styles to come full force in 2015.
