VMA vs EMMY Hair

2014/2015 Fall Hair Trends shown in MTV VMA Awards & Emmy Awards

As Philadelphia Fashion Week quickly approaches, all who attend wants the latest and greatest in Philadelphia hair.  To prepare for this Fall fashion season, Architeqt Salon takes inspiration from the 2014 MTV VMA Awards and the 2014 Emmy Awards and all of the current trends are sleek and frizz free.

Though the MTV VMA Awards may have a reputation as being a lot less formal than the Emmy Awards, this did not stop all of the ladies from turning up the glam. Every look was just as classy as the next.  Rap music’s newest darling, Iggy Azalea chose a sleek pulled back style, while other celebs like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez chose center-parted sleek blow out hair.  Most styles featured little to no volume at the crown.

Celebrities who donned bob cuts this Summer have opted for longer bobs and arm pit length hair.  Kate Mara (Emmy Awards) and Taylor Swift (MTV VMA Awards) chose to add waves to their longer bob cuts.  Even pixie cuts grew longer, with Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Julianne Hough’s long side swept bangs at the Emmy Awards.

The white blonde Khaleesi style we’ve seen all Summer are being colored warmer in golden tones, as seen on celebrities Rita Ora (MTV VMA Awards), Gwen Stefani and Amber Rose.  Even lighter ombre styles are making less of a contrast as seen on Kim Kardashian at the VMA Awards and actress, Kerry Washington, at the Emmy Awards.  Her chocolate and coffee colored ombre hues blend well and provides a great transition into the Fall season.

Other trends we see fading out this season is pastel colored hair, though some artists like Kelly Osbourne and Kesha choose to keep their pastel locks, most celebrities chose more natural or bolder colored hues. Demi Levato traded in her blue tresses for a more natural darker brown hue. Even color hair maven Katy Perry traded in her rainbow hued hair for black hair this award season.

As we begin to grow out our bob cuts and darken our locks for this Fall season, Architeqt Salon has great tips and new color products that make this transitional time easy and effective. From dry cutting shorter cuts to lessen the bulk and weight in grown out bob and pixie cuts and using the new olaplex treatment for our transitioning color clients, Architeqt Salon is the best choice in adapting your Philadelphia hair.
