Brittiany Cunningham graduated from Philadelphia’s top cosmetology school, Jean Madeline, in 2008. With a hunger for knowledge and a refusal to approach hair timidly, she made it a personal mission to dive into the industry with an innovative approach.
Originally, Brittiany was fascinated by styling- the molding and shaping into endless styles with the use of different tools or sometimes just a few bobby pins. Her love for bridal work and editorial styling was put on hold when she started to really explore and understand color and cutting. After countless classes and certifications, Brittiany is most proud of being a Sahag-inspired dry cutter, Hot Heads Hair Extensions educator and certified by L’Oreal Professionel for balayage. Her love for color corrections and fashion shades won her ‘Best of Philly’ in 2013.
The glue that holds all of this effortless hair into place, is Brittiany’s (almost to a fault) attention to detail and relentless thirst to try new things.
Jessica Gonsalves is Philadelphia’s leading colorist in balayage, a technique that paints color into the hair to produce a sun-kissed, natural glow. Originally a Jersey girl, Jess completed her cutting training at Vidal Sassoon over seven years ago. After working for L’Oréal Professionnel the last several years, Jess recently became a L’Oréal Professionnel National Artist (one of just a handful in the world); she now tours the country teaching classes on innovative color technique every month. As a SOHO Academy Partner, she is regularly invited to teach onstage at nationally acclaimed hair conventions. In addition, Jessica has been trained professionally in the art of makeup by Mac Cosmetics and Nars. She is a senior stylist and makeup artist at Architeqt Salon and Gallery, where you can find her making up brides for their special day, rescuing damaged hair with healthy color correction, or dry cutting fresh, unique styles for each client.
Sequoya knew her path involved hair styling at a young age when she began braiding everyone’s hair in her family! Graduating from Jean Madeline in 2008, she apprenticed under a master stylist before getting behind the chair. Shortly after, she decided she wanted a change of pace, and was off to the Rocky Mountains. There, she learned a great deal about natural beauty, and her desires transformed into creating natural, wearable hair. Her passion has developed not only with her love of doing color, but also with dry cutting, which has become a new element of her growing love for this industry. From bridal styling to extensions to soft color or bold, bright tones, she continues to research, learn and play through the art of hair.
Graduating from Jean Madeline in 2011, Allison Condon had an idea of where she wanted her career to excel. She apprenticed top stylists Alexey Kats, Artur Kirsh and Tonia Day at Studio CL. She later joined Tease Salon as a stylist, gaining experience in color and editorial work. She has continued her education with companies such as L’Oréal, Redken, and Davines. Reaching a peak in her career, she decided to branch out, becoming a part of the Architeqt team by finishing her apprenticeship in dry cutting. She has a trained eye for color, whether she’s creating dimensional blondes and brunettes or customizing Balayage for each individual.
Brianne graduated from Jean Madeline Aveda Institute and started her apprenticeship with Architeqt in the fall of 2014. Learning Alexey’s dry cutting method, Bree trained under Brittiany and Jessica in color techniques. Since completing her apprenticeship, Bree has been certified in Hot Head extension and is in the process of completing her certification for Balayage through L’Oreal Professionnel where she is mastering French highlighting techniques. Photoshoots and editorial work are Brianne’s next focus.
Nicholas DeMaio graduated from Schilling-Douglas School of Hair Design in 2010 and sharpened his skills at HairWorks in his native city, Wilmington, DE. After gaining experience behind the chair, Nicholas moved to Philadelphia and joined the team at Architeqt where he was educated in dry cutting and advanced coloring techniques. Nicholas has a strong eye for men’s cutting and styling and enjoys hair color that is inspired by music, art, and pop culture. Nicholas’ philosophy for hairdressing is focused on making each client see their full potential through his lighthearted nature and encouraging personality.
Alba Joined the Architeqt team in 2016 where she underwent an apprenticeship with Alexey. Before her time at Architeqt, Alba gained styling experience at DryBar after she graduated Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in 2015.
Alba’s desire to be in the hair industry started in her late teens. While her dream was hard to achieve in her native Albania, it took her almost 5,000 miles and 10 years to make it happen. Before her journey to be a hairstylist, Alba finished university with a degree in Graphic Design which trained her eye to see shape and color. Soon after starting at Architeqt, Alba became certified in various extension methods and developed a passion for dry cutting while also furthering her education in various cutting and coloring techniques.
Crystal, a Washington State native came to Philly in 2013. She attended and graduated from the Beauty Institute of Schwarzkopf in March of 2016 , and started her apprenticeship with Architeqt in April. With a great passion for color, she was excited to be able to expand her knowledge working under stylists like Jessica, Sequoya, and Allison. Her love for dry-cutting was also brought to life apprenticing under owner Alexey Kats. Crystal is one to think outside of the box, and is always open to trying new things. Her passion for this career comes from the ability to express one’s creativity, and thrives off of making others feel confident and beautiful. In addition to being a stylist, Crystal also is a makeup artist, and certified in eyelash extensions, Hot Heads and BABE hair extensions.
